Marine Works Applications
In order to ensure that safety of navigation and protection of the marine environment is maintained, SZCHA has implemented a Harbour Works Procedure. For all proposed marine works this requires that they are planned, managed and authorised by the SZC Harbour Board via the Harbour Master.
All Sizewell C project teams and their contractors MUST provide full details of their intended activities by completing a Marine Works Application form. A Marine Works Application form must also be submitted with appropriate navigational risk assessments, method statements, vessel details and certification, for works to be undertaken. Where diving is planned, the applicant must also complete a Dive Permit Application Form. These documents should be submitted to the harbour master: harbour.master@sizewellc.com.
What happens next?
The SZC Harbour Authority approval timeframe is between 4 to 8 weeks from receipt of a completed Marine Works Application form, dependent upon the scale and complexity of works. In order to facilitate engagement with marine works, the Harbour Master joins a monthly Sizewell C Marine Working Group.
- All relevant SZC project teams / contractors will inform the SZC Harbour Master of upcoming works to be undertaken within the SHA jurisdiction including its approaches. The SZC Harbour Master will advise of the level of detail needed for marine works approvals.
- SZC project teams / contractors will then undertake the appropriate assessments and collate the necessary documents to complete a Marine Works Application Form.
